freewheeling Friday
Some days just flow by when you're in the driver seat. On a gray ribbon of road laid over a blanket of green - grasses, spruce, aspen.
We saw
animal crossing signs 🚸 all along the road - for deer (plentiful), for wild 🐎 horses (never saw a single one), for elk (none), for caribou (none of those either), after the 🦬 bison crossing sign there were two calmly grazing in the ditch - big hulking things, not tall but very much a Presence. folded mountain in stone mtn provincial Park
Our destination- Liard Hot springs, completely out of cellphone service but super popular among travelers on this road! Steeped in the hot springs a while, then meandered down the road to find a campsite.
Now lying on a cozy carpet of moss in a little forest glade next to a rushing creek, calling me to sleep with its white noise. The cost to enjoy this idyllic setting is fending off hundreds of mosquitoes.
Today a Watson Lake, Yukon, a stop for laundry and showers, we've been a week on the road!
